Assessment studies

The simplicity of the method explains its effectiveness. Let us show some results : in all cases only contractures were treated by BMT as sole treatment.

Elbow pain A comparative study. More than 3 times as many cures in 2 times less sessions by BMT compared with conventional physiotherapy (study published in 2000 in 'Physiotherapy', Switzerland).
Idiopathic Scoliosis in teenagers : a study with radiological measurements on 59 cases of more than 10° Cobb angle. Correction of the curvature in 93% of cases of an average 7 ° (maximum correction = 25°).
Migraine Thorough treatment. Study on 249 patients. Results : complete remission: 72% (179 cases), improvements by 80% or more: 6.5% (16 cases), improvements by more than 50%: of 5.5% (the 14 cases), improvements of at least 30%: 2% (5 cases), failures: 14% (35 cases) ; for details see <http://migraine.headache.free.fr >.
Cervicobrachial Neuralgia A cross-over study on 31 cases, comparing BMT with conventional physiotherapy ; for detailed results see <www.myotherapie.org > (mind : not myotherapy.org).

The effects of BMT have been tested on more than 60 diseases can be found on our website: <www.myotherapie.org> (mind : not myotherapy.org). It should be noticed that it is very rare that the effectiveness of manual therapy be evaluated seriously – as for us we felt that we could not say that BMT is effective without providing evidence.

We shall mention just a few results BMT on common disorders:

Chronic neck pain Study of 244 cases ; in an average of 4 sessions161 cured (66%), 65 improved (27%), 18 failures (7%).
Vertigo including Meniere's disease. Study on 71 cases ; in an average 3 sessions, 55 cured (78%), 13 improved (18%), 3 failures (4%).
Shoulder pain Study on 177 cases ; in an average of 4 sessions, 112 cures (64%), 52 improved (29%), 13 failures (7%).
Low back pain & sciatica Study of 297 cases, in an average of 3.5 sessions : 234 cures (79%), 56 improved (19%), seven failures (2%).
Knee pain Study on 110 cases, in an average of 4 sessions, 82 cures (75%), 22 improved (20%), 6 failures (5%).
Acute ankle sprain Study of 123 cases, in an average 2 sessions, 111 cures (90%), 52 improved (29%), 13 failures (7%).
